The next projects to boost NSW mining

Twenty-five projects worth almost $11 billion are lined up at various planning stages in New South Wales over the next two decades.

The 25 projects are comprised of new projects and extensions and modifications of existing operations, including the Bylong project and Tahmoor South project.

In the Hunter region, there are nine projects in the pipeline with a potential to deliver over $1.5 billion in investment and over 3400 jobs.

In the Lithgow/Mid West region, seven projects are set to contribute an investment of over $1.5 billion and attract over 2100 jobs.

Four projects in the Illawarra, three in the Central West and two in the Gunnedah region are also predicted to create almost $5.5 billion in combined investment and close to 6000 jobs.

NSW Minerals Council chief executive Stephen Galilee said the state was blessed with high quality resources combined with strong and growing demand in our region. Read more…
